A 3 day Strategy Formulation Meeting (SFM) on Human Simulator was organized by ITRA on 15-17 January, 2015 at Hotel Atrium, Delhi-NCR. The event was attended by more than 60 National and International experts from the fields of Medicine as well as Information, Communication Technology and Electronics (ICT&E).
Prof. SV Raghavan, Scientific Secretary, Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, delivered the opening address. Prof. Narendra Ahuja, Director – ITRA, then gave an overview of ITRA as well as, an outline on it’s new focus area Human Simulator. The first session of the SFM included presentations and discussions on various medical topics, like, The Role of Amyloid in Neurodegenerative Disorders, Type II Diabetes, Fatty Liver Disease and Steatohepatitis, and Therapeutic Targets & Drug Discovery Strategies for Amyloid.
In the following sessions, it was discussed how ICT&E can help in the field of medicine viz. through amyloid modelling. The experts also discussed how the Human Simulator initiative of ITRA can improve the quality and quantity of Research & Development (R&D); Curricular options; Program for Societal Sensitivity for problem spotting & solving; Entrepreneurial Activity.
